Privacy Policy

Last Updated: August 8, 2026

At StackAlternative (accessible from https://stack-alternative.com), one of our main priorities is the privacy of our visitors. This Privacy Policy document contains types of information that is collected and recorded by StackAlternative and how we use it.

If you have additional questions or require more information about our Privacy Policy, do not hesitate to contact us.

Personal Data and Interactive Tools

StackAlternative does not require registration or user accounts to access any of our features, and we do not collect personal data through passive browsing alone. The only place we ask you for information directly is the Contact form β€” see the "Contact Form Submissions" section below for exactly what that involves.

Our interactive matchmaking tool, the SaaS Fit Advisor, runs entirely on the client-side (in your browser). Any selections, budget inputs, or team size parameters you enter during the questionnaire are processed locally in real-time and are never transmitted to our servers or stored by us.

Contact Form Submissions

When you submit our Contact form, the email address and message you provide are processed by Web3Forms, a third-party form-delivery service, and forwarded to our team by email. We use this solely to respond to your message or correction report β€” we do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not store submissions in a database of our own. Review Web3Forms' Privacy Policy for how they handle form data in transit.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand aggregate traffic patterns β€” which pages are visited, how visitors arrive at the site, and general geographic/device breakdowns. GA4 uses cookies and similar technologies to distinguish sessions; the data it collects (IP address, browser type, referring/exit pages, approximate location, timestamps) is not linked to your name or contact details by us. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Affiliate Links and Sponsored Content

Some outbound links on StackAlternative β€” including hosting providers referenced in our TCO calculations (e.g., DigitalOcean, Vultr) and select self-hosted tools we cover β€” are affiliate links. If you click one and sign up for a paid plan, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. Affiliate relationships never influence which alternatives we cover or what our comparisons conclude: our editorial verdicts are based on the same verified pricing and feature data regardless of whether an affiliate link exists for a given tool.

Cookies and Consent

Like most websites, StackAlternative uses cookies β€” set by Google Analytics (see above), and by Google AdSense once display advertising is active on the site. These cookies do not store information you enter into forms or the SaaS Fit Advisor; they are limited to the analytics and advertising purposes described in this policy.

We use Klaro, an open-source consent management tool, to ask for your permission before any of these cookies are set. Analytics and advertising scripts do not run until you accept them β€” you can accept, decline, or change your choice at any time via the "Cookie Preferences" link in the footer of every page.

Google AdSense and the DoubleClick DART Cookie

StackAlternative participates in the Google AdSense program. When display advertising is active, Google and its partners use cookies, including the DoubleClick DART cookie, to serve ads based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings or the Digital Advertising Alliance's opt-out page.

Third-party ad servers and networks that may serve ads on StackAlternative use their own cookies, JavaScript, or web beacons independently of us β€” we have no access to or control over these third-party technologies, and this policy does not extend to their respective privacy practices. Consult each advertiser's own privacy policy for details on their data practices and opt-out options.

Managing Cookies

The easiest way to change your consent choice is the "Cookie Preferences" link in the footer of every page, which reopens the consent manager at any time. You can also disable or delete cookies through your browser's settings directly. Neither will prevent you from using any feature of the site, including the SaaS Fit Advisor and the comparison database.

Data Security

StackAlternative is a statically-generated website hosted on Cloudflare Pages. There is no application server or database of our own holding visitor data β€” the only data described in this policy is handled by the third-party services named above (Web3Forms for contact submissions, Google for analytics and advertising).

Consent

By using our website, you hereby consent to our Privacy Policy and agree to its Terms and Conditions.
